Artist and Alphabet: 20th Century Calligraphy & Letter Art in America.   The exhibit is gone but his impressive volume remains to document the New York Society of Scribes' landmark 1999 exhibition at the AIGA celebrating their 25th anniversary.  Curated by Alice Koeth and Jerry Kelly, these  140 examples of the best work of 74 invited contemporary scribes and 28 historic figures represent a century of scribes. A most memorable and historic gallery from the hands of Edward Johnston, Arnold Bank, John Howard Benson, Lili Wronker, John Stevens, Marcy Robinson, Alice, Annie Cicale and Raphael Boguslav to name only a few.   132 pp., 96 pieces shown in full color, 47 b&w,  8.5" x 11".
