The Crafter's Recipe Book.  200 New Ideas for Decorating Objects in Paper, Fabric, Ceramic and Wood. It was hard to put this one down!  The difference between this and other "crafty" technique books is the level of sophistication of the results though the methods and methods are simple.  Eighteen contemporary artists contributed the ideas, two examples and clear, simple instruction for each technique.  All are shown in full color and you, too, will find yourself mesmerized by the examples and possibilities of ice marbling, paste paper, layering techniques, crayon batik, fabric photocopying, coloring with brayers, image transfer with acrylic medium and silver stitching on paper.  Many of the techniques in the fabric section can also be applied to paper —collage, block printing and gocco.  And imagine the possibilities of combining the two!  8.5" x 11", 143 pp., pb.
