Acrylic Mediums

Acrylic mediums are used by calligraphers for a number of processes. They can be used as a gesso in gilding. Adding it to paste and non-waterproof color for paste paper allows you to later write on the surface with gouache. It creates a waterproof surface as a wash. It can also be used to thin acrylic paints.
