These versatile mica pigments mix with any slightly-thick medium such as watercolor; gouache; paste for paste papers or varnish or glue to produce a pearlescent or metallic luster.   Or, to make your own PearlEx watercolor for lettering, mix 4 parts PearlEx with one part liquid gum arabic to make a paste (which you can store in a palette). Add water as you do with gouache to get the consistency you want. If you use dry gum arabic powder, add a bit of water. PearlEx pigments can be used on any surface and are weather and temperature resistant, non-tarnishing and colorfast. Also great for marbling, stamping, textile painting and polymer clay work. Duo colors shift between colors depending on light and background color; use dark papers with interference colors for best effect.
