This class is for both beginners and students who wish to refresh themselves with the basics. Known as both Roundhand and/or Engrossing Script, this will be a class to provide the basics and true fundaments of this beautiful script. Learning how to manipulate the pointed pen to make the down strokes thick and hairline upward strokes is the focus of this grateful script.
ENGROSSER’S SCRIPT – ALL SKILL LEVELS
This class is for both beginners and students who wish to refresh themselves with the basics. Known as both Roundhand and/or Engrossing Script, this will be a class to provide the basics and true fundaments of this beautiful script. Learning how to manipulate the pointed pen to make the down strokes thick and hairline upward strokes is the focus of this grateful script. Using the Zanerian Manual and the teachings of my mentor Senior Master Penman Mr. William Lilly, we will focus on the material referenced in the manual and what I have learned from Mr. Lilly as we learn to write this script. The morning will focus on the basic strokes for the lower case to learn those letters. The afternoon will shift to the capital letters and combining them with the lower-case letters for appropriate spacing.
Class Supplies
I would suggest an oblique pen holder or some may wish to use a straight pen holder; suggest a Nikko G nib or
Gillott 1068A (experienced individuals can use their favorite nib); McCaffery’s ink (any color) or your favorite
ink used with the pointed pen (other suggested inks would be Moon Palace Sumi, Walnut Ink or Old World Ink);
since there will be a limited amount of guide sheets in your handouts, an alternative paper would be the gridsquare paper (5 squares per inch) pads from Rhodia or Clairefontaine tablets (which is excellent paper for the
pointed pen). All of the supplies here could be used in other classes.

Shipping and Returns
Enjoy $5.99 Flat Rate Shipping (2-7 business days) on orders over $50. (*Large sheet paper (uncut) will have an additional $15 fee due to oversized shipment price increases)
We ship worldwide! International orders are subject to all applicable customs & duty taxes & fees. These fees are not included in the shipping price.
Orders placed online and by phone generally ship within 48-72 business hours. Paper and Ink Arts is closed on Saturday & Sundays, so orders placed over the weekend will begin shipping on the following Monday.
If there is an item in your order that is out of stock, we will contact you via email when your order is packed to allow you the choice of having your other items shipped or having your entire order held until your backordered item arrives.
