I used to add a drop of sumi ink into my walnut ink to darken it, but for some reason it did not work anymore (one time, it left a sediment, another time, the sumi coagulated into a messy blob). Now, I used this additive instead and it works very well, but the downside is it's pricey and it comes in a smaller bottle than the regular TN walnut ink.

You have to shake it and use it, otherwise the pigment settles. But it’s a beautiful brown colour, deep and lovely. And the consistency allows you to achieve finer hairlines
