Ginger Burrell - Stitched Bindings
Looking for a special way to show your calligraphy? Learn to make handmade books especially designed for display! Create six beautiful hardcover books. We’ll begin with a Flag book and progress to a simple Pop-Up Accordion Book. Each day we will build our skills to create more bindings including a Crown Binding (also known as Blizzard Binding), an Envelope Fan Book, and two kinds of Star Books, one with a graduated display space and the other with sewn pockets. Each is a great way to exhibit your work - and then fold it back flat when you want to put it away or change out your display. Create a work of art for yourself or as a gift. The instructor will provide instructions with step-by- step photographs so that you can make the books again and again in your home studio.
Class Level: No experience necessary. All levels welcome.
