Barbara Close - Word Garden
Fun and unique Lettering styles are such great partners with beautiful, simple but elegant florals. In this course we will be doing several, fun & unique styles of letters enhanced by colorful flowers. Everyone can do this. Its relaxing, entertaining & challenging all at the same time. Barbara will instruct step-by-step processes to get the job done; no need to be a full-time or long-time artist. Results are stunning. Who doesnt love a fabulous bouquet of gorgeous letters and flowers?
- Watercolor brushes - #4 or #6 with good tip (bring both if you have them)
- Triangle/wedge brush (if you have one)
- 1 sponge brush or 1 house painting brush (to create background washes)
- Prang watercolor sets or a few tubes of gouache colors with palette
- Two water containers
- Pigma Microns #03 and #08 or other brand of monoline pen you like
- Pointed nibs of your choice
- Ink of your choice (such as sumi, Pelikan or walnut)
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Ruler
- Painter's Tape
- Kitchen sponge (not with scrubbie) cut to 1 squares or 1X 2 rectangles
- Small spray bottle
- A few paper towels (cut in half to have a small stack)
- 9 X 12 watercolor paper pad cut to 6 X 9 sheets
- Book rings or clips to hold pages together
- Practice paper (printer paper or Canson Pro Layout)
- OPTIONAL: Embossing stylus
- OPTIONAL: Gold powder
- OPTIONAL: Sakura gel pen
