This intermediate class is designed for students who already have some experience with linocut printmaking. Whether you took Sarah’s Linocut 101 Workshop or have practiced carving and printing on your own, this class will help you expand your skills.
We’ll begin with a short presentation covering more advanced carving and printing techniques, then move quickly into a practice block focused on grayscale pattern drills, including:
- Grayscale with dots
- Grayscale with diagonal hatching
- Grayscale with horizontal/vertical hatching
Students will then work on a larger 6” x 8” block of their own design. The final image is completely up to you, with time to carve and print. You will leave the class with your carved block and up to 5 prints.

More about Sarah:
Sarah is a printmaker based in Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated with a BFA from Watkins College of Art in 2018, and has been included in exhibitions in 14 states since the completion of her education. In 2022, Sarah was awarded the Les Christensen Excellence in Art Award for The Warren by the Bradbury Art Museum. Sarah has also participated in several art festivals and makers markets across the Southeast.
Sarah’s goal is for viewers to enjoy the print in its totality, but also to delight in each mark, squiggle, line, and curve as much as she does.
