Tips and Tricks:

• Begin with equal parts pigment and base, then adjust from there. To check your consistency, dilute with water and swatch it on watercolor paper. Add more pigment if it looks too sheer, or more base if it’s more opaque than you’d like.
• To fill a pan, pour it about halfway, let it dry for 24 hours, then top it off and let it dry completely. Working in two layers helps inhibit mold growth. Once dry, pans keep indefinitely.
• Leftover liquid paint will stay fresh for 1-3 months in a small airtight jar. Refrigeration, a drop of clove oil, or a pinch of sodium benzoate will extend its shelf life even further. Un-used base mixture keeps for about a year refrigerated in a small airtight jar.
• Paint cleans up with water and mild dish soap.
• Packaging is made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper and the pigments and gum arabic come in home-compostable bioplastic pouches.
