The Hunt 22 is one of our best-selling nibs for both beginners and seasoned calligraphers. This pointed nib is very similar to the Gillott 303 except for a couple key differences. Although the 22 has an excellent range of flexibility, it is slightly stiffer than the 303 and requires more pressure to create thick swells. Both nibs are very sharp and produce elegant hairlines, but the Hunt 22 isn't quite as sharp and can handle textured papers, such as Arches hot press, much easier.
These dependable nibs are excellent for Copperplate and suitable for Spencerian as well.
Vintage Hunt 22 nibs are also available, and are desired by some users who find them slightly more rigid. They can be found here.

Best nib for beginners
This is one of the best nibs I've used for beginners. It is a little bit harder than other nibs, making it easier to control. The twines are also easy to open and square off, making near to perfect parallelogram shapes. The trade off is you get a thicker hairline than the likes of Hunt 101. The price is a bit high for a nib that wears out, but it's worth it. MS
