ALL SKILL LEVELS | ARTISTIC

This workshop will unleash possibilities for beautiful, exciting, and adventurous page designs. The participants will be able to create with confidence as we go through some step-by-step exercises. Most people learn calligraphic skills with diligent practice, but then have no idea what to do to create an exciting page. Here, we will explore together and find the passion in each of us to create those creative sparks.

CLASS SUPPLIES

  • Canson Pro-Marker layout or Borden & Riley 9"x12"
  • Bristol Tablet 9"x12"
  • Few sheets of dark paper 9"x12"
  • Sumi Ink (Moon Palace) or a permanent Black
  • Dr. Martin's Bleedproof White
  • watercolors (either tubes or pans) at least 3 colors
  • large round brush #10 or #12, one flat 3/4" or 1"
  • smaller brushes #4 or #6 with good tips
  • One or two Pigma Micron Markets 01, 05, or 08
  • Calligraphic nibs you like to write with
  • Plastic to cover your area (just in case there are splashes)
  • Plastic wrap sheet for project page (about 10" x 14")
  • water containers & paper towels
  • pencil, ruler, eraser
  • glue stick & X-Acto knife for collages of small bits
  • old toothbrush for splatters
  • plastic card (i.e. old credit card) to scrape with

Optional:

  • walnut ink
  • gold powder (Schmincke)
  • Stickles for sparkles
