This is a wonderful ink, it is rich black, it flows wonderful with the nib, dries quite quickly and when it dries, has like a shimmer with a bit of dimersion that I love. Reading about how it is made marveled me, and made me appreciate, even more the perfume it has: so organic, woody, earthy... this is a must have!

I use this for Copperplate and it's great. It has the unique sumi ink smell and dries fairly quickly. I don't think I have ever had the ink smudge when I'm addressing envelopes or erasing guidelines. I like that it's a deep black with a slight sheen to it. I have heard that some calligraphers dilute their ink, but I haven't had a problem using it straight out of the bottle.
