Sakura Pigma Calligrapher, Set of 3 Black

These are—by far and without question—the best markers I have ever used for broad edge calligraphy. I constantly recommend them to people and I pretty much won’t buy anything else here on out, unless it’s due to needing something these markers don’t offer (like a wider range of colors or sizes—I’m glad they’re available in a few basic colors other than black, but they definitely need a full spectrum and more than 3 sizes). The nib in these markers is made of plastic, unlike any other marker I’ve seen, so it doesn’t bend or fray with pressure or age. It also consistently produces hard, crisp, edges/lines, due to its sturdy design—it can even write from the very corner of the nib, producing somewhat of a hairline stroke, which is always useful. I love the three sizing options (particularly the 1mm, because it can be slightly more challenging to find markers in that size), but would love to see more, like 4, 5, and 6mm. The only issue I’ve had with these markers is with the 3mm size. I was sent a few with a concave shaped nib—meaning only the outer edges would ever touch the paper (producing somewhat of a railroad effect). Since the nib is made of plastic and has no bend to it, there’s not much that can be done to fix, other than just throw away and hope for a one. They being said, most of those I purchased I loved and got a lot of usage out of. Do yourself a favor and pick up a set.
