These goose quills have already been cured (hardened) and are ready to be cut for writing. These goose quills are hand-selected for suitability for calligraphy. These are 12-13" quills with larger diameter staffs with thick walls. (They are not selected for their decorative condition.) Quills are very light, very flexible, and deliver a wide variety of media easily -- thick gesso, creamy gouache or thin ink.
