Engrosser’s Script with Ritchie Wei
This Engrosser’s Script class begins with the fundamentals while also incorporating selected intermediate concepts, making it suitable for both beginners and those with prior experience in the script. We will explore the foundations of Engrosser’s Script, clarify its historical relationship to English Roundhand, and work step by step through essential letterforms. The class will also address common technical challenges and how to correct them. Primary letterform references will be drawn from the work of Engrosser’s Script master Willis A. Baird. Participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with his work in advance; examples can be found on the IAMPETH website. If you have specific questions you would like addressed during the class, please feel free to message me on Instagram (@ritchiewei) so I can prepare thoughtful responses in advance.
