Marvelous Mosaics and Luscious Letters by Barbara Close – Level: All levels welcome.

This workshop will take you on an exciting adventure with a tapestry of amazing fractions of color “bits” to create beautiful word-page designs. For years I’ve been fascinated with mosaic tiles and the art that is created. There is so much inspiration all around us. Putting this idea to paper is a spark of new excitement. We’ll be using a Neuland style of lettering to start and explore more. I hope you’ll join in this adventure. I just know you will enjoy this!

Class Supplies

PAINTS:

• Watercolors
• Gouache

BRUSHES:

• Small flat (1/4” or 3/16”)
• #4 or #6 round with good tip (bring a few if you have some)

PENS:

• Broad-edge pens you like
• Parallel Pens: larger ones - 3.8, 4.5, 6 (if you have these)
• White Gel Pen & Dr. Martins Pen White (for darker papers)
• Blunt-tip’d markers - NOT Sharpies (Tombows or others)

PAPER:

• Practice paper you like
• Watercolor pads or Mixed Media pads *NOTE: cut 8-10 sheets to 5” x 7”
• Couple sheets of dark papers

OTHER STUFF:

• Pencil, eraser, ruler
• Gold powder
• Glaze Gel Pen (if you have one)
• Glue stick & Double-sided Tape
• Painter’s Tape
• Paper towels
• Scissors or x-acto with mat
• Water containers & mixing brushes
