You're My Type: Legende, Ondine, and Noris by Jane Shibata – Level: Intermediate
Typefaces originate from hand lettering or calligraphy and three in particular are often adapted as calligraphic hands: Legende, Ondine, and Noris. Legende was designed by Ernst Schneidler, Ondine was designed by Adrian Frutiger, and Noris script was designed by Hermann Zapf. After analyzing the characteristics of each typeface, I will introduce the calligraphic versions of each. Although we will be writing and practicing each hand, there will be time to showcase your calligraphy in a book format or a broadside. Knowledge of broad edge pen usage is recommended.
