The Gillott 1950 is a uniquely shaped, fairly stiff nib. This pen has a small, sharp point plus an expanded end that allows it to fit into standard holders, unlike most extra-fine nibs. Like all sharp nibs, the 1950 does not operate well on textured papers.
Produces good hairlines and can be used for Spencerian and Copperplate, but performs best as a drawing nib. This nib is ideal for intermediate or advanced level calligraphers and is not recommended for beginners.
This nib is included in our Copperplate Sampler
Measurements: 38mm long x 5mm at widest / 3mm at narrowest

Gillott 1950 Nib.
This nib might as well be a brush. It's Wonderful!

Gillott 1950 Nib.
This is the closest a nib can come to being a Winsor and Newton Series 7 brush...and it doesn't cost $30.

Highly usefull
It has a surprisingly good range even if it doesn't look like it. For drawing, when using at "high speed", you can cross hatching with really thin lines, while keeping a moderately thin line on normal "speed", it doesn't recoil when drawing circular shapes, and you can press it for high contrast.
