The Hiro 40 nib tends to go by many names, including the Leonardt 40 or the Blue Pumpkin. Some calligraphers find this nib to be a less expensive duplicate of the Brause Steno 361 nib, which is very similar in appearance and performance.

The Hiro 40 is very flexible, requiring a gentle hand but capable of producing thick, beautiful swells. This nib produces decent hairlines and can be used for Copperplate, but it is better suited for modern calligraphy styles. Can hold a lot of ink, making re-dipping less frequent.
This nib is included in our Copperplate Sampler

Used it when being a beginner and it was quite good... I think it works better when using not watery inks, like goauche
Great value for that price

It's probably one of the cheapest nibs you could find on the market! Almost 1/3 of the price for the Brause Steno Blue Pumpkin and just as good! To be honest, the blueish coating on this Leonard Blue Pumpkin is better than the more expensive Brause brand. It lasts longer. This nib is a little bit more flexible than the Brause and both holding similar amount of ink. Both the blue pumpkins are great for bigger lettering than smaller. And ink will go away very quickly and you have to dip more often.
