I ordered just about every nib from Paper & Ink Arts so I could really test things out and see what I liked. This is definitely a favorite. It’s bigger in size for a crowquill nib, which means it holds more ink. It’s also extremely flexible, so huge amounts of contrast can be attained with varying pressure: from some of the finest hairlines to super thick chunky marks. The user will need to be exceedingly comfortable with pressure control to really master this nib. The nib is also relatively sturdy for its flexibility, which means it holds up to wear and tear a little more than other nibs with similar flexibility. Compare this to the Gillott 659 crowquill, which I favored before. They’re both superior nibs that offer probably the widest variety of stroke contrast for crowquill nibs, but the Hunt 108 takes the cake for me in terms of ink capacity and line with variation. Definitely consider adding this one to your collection if you like bendy nibs and don’t have it yet.
