Brause Rose Nib

Item #: roseni
$3.34
This nib from Brause is modeled on a vintage nib design and features a lovely embossed rose on the body. Rose nibs are incredibly flexible but remain strong and dependable nonetheless. This pointed nib's high flex can be difficult to get used to and requires a gentle hand, but once mastered creates dramatic contrasts between hairlines and swells that are hard to reproduce with other G nibs like the Nikko, Zebra, or Tachikawa.

Works best with diluted ink.
This nib is ideal for intermediate or advanced level calligraphers and is not recommended for beginners.
Well-loved by Lindsey Bugbee from The Postmans Knock.

I like this nib. It holds a lot of ink and is very flexible- definitely not a good nib for beginners, since it requires a very light hand. However, it gives very good movement once you've mastered how to use it and the contrast between the thick and thin lines is gorgeous. It can be difficult sometimes if your ink is too thick, because it's prone to making a glob of ink if you're too heavy handed.
